Description
The Pittsburg State University Department of Psychology and Counseling, PIttsburg, Kansas (www.pittstate.edu/psych) is accepting applications for an Assistant Instructional Professor committed to high-quality teaching for a full-time, non-tenure position. Position begins on August 10, 2026, and will include undergraduate teaching, graduate teaching in our on-campus Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)-verified course sequence, advising, and supervision in collaboration with onsite BCBA supervisors. Specific courses will depend on areas of expertise and/or experience but may include behavior analysis courses, and/or other undergraduate courses as assigned (e.g., Research Methods I and II). Scholarly activity in the area of behavior analysis is desirable and service to the department, college, and university are required. The successful candidate will support both the M.S. Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities will include behavior analysis graduate courses with the potential for psychology undergraduate courses (based on need and expertise)
Oversight of student theses and participation as a committee member
Mentorship and supervision of graduate students working towards BCBA certification
Additional expectations include mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students, active involvement in professional organizations, service to the university, college and community, and commitment to student success
Other service duties may include participating in recruitment and retention efforts and providing support to other department efforts, as well as collaborating with the community to identify and support internship placements for students (related to behavior analysis)
