| Job Summary | The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a 9-month position in the special title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. This position will support online pedagogical innovation, curriculum design, and instructional development in Applied Psychology, including online course development and delivery. The initial appointment for this position will include dedicated effort to develop and coordinate online Applied Psychology courses and mentor online students. When the administrative appointment ends, the allocated administrative effort will be reassigned to instruction. The initial distribution of effort will be 62.5% instruction, 12.5% administration, 15% research, and 10% service. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in online course development and online Learning Management Systems and pedagogical expertise, particularly in instructional design and learning outcomes assessment. While this position is primarily instructional, the successful candidate will be expected to have—or show strong potential for—research expertise in the science of teaching and learning and in Psychology pedagogies. The successful candidates will be those who demonstrate the following: - A successful record of teaching at the undergraduate level, particularly in an online format - Experience in curricular design and planning, innovative course development, and learning assessments - Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with a broad range of students and faculty. A PhD in Psychology is required. Applicants must include the following: 1) Cover Letter 2) CV, 3) Research Statement (upload as Specific Request 1), 4) Teaching Portfolio, including a) teaching philosophy that includes discussion of candidate's background and experience in online pedagogy, b) courses developed and taught in virtual format (or courses the candidate is prepared to teach), and c) student teaching evaluations, where available (upload as Specific Request 2), and 5) Transcripts. In addition, please provide the names and contact information of three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information will be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system.
