Job Details: The Department of Chemistry in Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a fulltime, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry position to start August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities: This faculty member’s responsibilities will include: regular presentation of undergraduate general chemistry (with laboratory) or organic chemistry (with laboratory) courses; periodic presentation of advanced undergraduate chemistry courses (topics according to expertise); pursuit of an active research program that complements the department’s current expertise; and regular mentoring of undergraduate researchers.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry from an accredited college or university is required. ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor until their PhD is obtained; however, candidates with a PhD in hand by August 1, 2026 are strongly preferred.
