Description
The Helzberg School of Management in the College of Business and Technology at Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time accounting faculty position beginning in August 2026. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Accounting will be considered for a tenure-track appointment, while those holding a Master of Accounting or a J.D. with a Master’s or LL.M. in Taxation will be considered for non-tenure-track appointments.
The Helzberg School of Management is AACSB accredited, and Helzberg faculty are assessed in the areas of teaching, research, and service. The teaching load for tenure track faculty is 18 credit hours per year, divided between undergraduate, graduate, and executive business programs. Faculty are required to maintain an active scholarly or professional engagement agenda, with regular contributions to the field.
The position begins August 2026, and the salary is commensurate with skills and experience. The position offers a full benefits package. Review of applications will begin December 31, 2025.
Requirements
The successful candidate will hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, bring professional tax experience into the classroom, and demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of taxation courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred, along with enthusiasm for mentoring students as they prepare for careers as CPAs and tax attorneys.
