Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene

Lincoln Memorial University–College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene. This faculty position is ideal for an experienced dental hygiene professional with a passion for teaching, mentorship, curriculum development, and service within a student-centered academic environment.
Position Responsibilities
Full-time faculty members at LMU-CDM are expected to:
- Maintain high academic and professional standards within their discipline
- Teach didactic and/or clinical dental hygiene courses
- Advise and mentor students
- Develop, assess, and maintain curriculum
- Incorporate current pedagogy and teaching methodologies
- Participate in faculty development, service, and outreach activities
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to rank
- Contribute to college, university, and community service initiatives
- A strong commitment to teaching excellence, service, and professional growth is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in dental hygiene or a related discipline
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in dental hygiene education
- Demonstrated teaching ability in traditional and/or online learning environments
- Ability to assess and utilize student learning outcome data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
- Strong collaboration skills and commitment to academic excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience with community outreach or public health initiatives
- Prior academic or clinical teaching experience
