Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences positions to start in August 2026. These are a standard nine-month faculty appointment.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to conduct high-impact research in computational and applied mathematics or a closely related field. Additionally, we seek candidates who have enthusiasm for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and for supervising graduate and undergraduate research.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the date of initial appointment.
- An active research agenda in mathematics, computational mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in mathematics at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated research potential in computational and applied mathematics that complements, expands, and has potential for collaboration with the expertise of existing faculty in computational mathematics.
- Strong record of successful publication and potential for external funding.
- Evidence of experience in interdisciplinary research.
- Evidence of experience mentoring students in independent research.
