- Assistant Professor of Social Work/Director of MSW Program
Description
Colorado Mesa University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Social Work/Director of MSW Program. This position provides leadership to the Master of Social Work program, including the overall direction and management of a fully CSWE-accredited MSW program and oversight of accreditation. As a faculty member, this position is also responsible for student advising, professional service, and teaching.
The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester; however, due to the required leadership role, this position will have a fifty percent teaching load reduction per semester.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administration of the MSW program, which includes the following:
- Program, personnel, and budget management;
- Curriculum oversight and course sequencing/scheduling;
- Leadership of the program, and collaboration at the department, University, and community levels;
- Maintain accreditation and complete the reaffirmation process.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
- Two years post-MSW practice experience
- Higher education teaching experience
- Experience in a leadership role
- Experience with curriculum development
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- PhD, PsyD, DSW, or doctoral degree
- Five years post-MSW practice experience
- Five years of clinical experience in social work
- Current LCSW, LICSW, and/or independent licensure within social work
- Previous CSWE accreditation experience
- Experience as a program director of a CSWE-accredited program
