Position Overview
Lincoln Memorial University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Veterinary Science to support interdisciplinary instruction across the Veterinary Medical Technology Program and the Veterinary Health Science Program, with opportunities to contribute to professional and graduate programs within the LMU College of Veterinary Medicine.
This is a mission-driven academic appointment for an educator-scholar who values student engagement, hands-on teaching, and contributing to a growing veterinary academic community.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching, research/creative achievement, and service in alignment with the mission of the University, College, and Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and professional coursework in veterinary and life sciences
- Contribute to curriculum development and program growth
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to rank
- Provide academic advising and mentorship
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service
- Collaborate with CVM faculty where applicable
- Teaching responsibilities will be equally distributed between the Veterinary Medical Technology and Veterinary Health Science programs.
Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree in veterinary or life sciences field (PhD, DVM, or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent professional degree
- Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Evidence of potential for effective teaching
- Demonstrated or emerging record of scholarly activity
