Description
DescriptionThe Department of Biomedical Sciences, Division of Molecular and Integrative Physiology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor. The position is a continuing, 100 percent, twelve-month, tenure-track appointment. Appointment will include research space.

Examples of Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching in the Medical School curriculum as well as in the undergraduate/graduate programs of the Division. Progress in rank will require demonstration of productivity in research, teaching, and service. Exact distribution of duties/responsibilities will be annually negotiated and finalized between the Division Associate Chair and the faculty member, based on external research funding and programmatic curriculum needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in physiology or related biomedical science field;
- minimum of two years postdoctoral or equivalent experience; and
- evidence of high-quality research. The applicant's specific area of research must be competitive for external funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those whose area of research complements our departmental strengths in reproduction, neuroscience, development, and endocrinology
