Position Summary:
Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in Veterinary Education. This will be a 12-month, full time, non-tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, 15% teaching, 25% research, 60% service. Teaching of DVM students will be in a competency-based veterinary curriculum incorporating lecture, lab and small group learning.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote faculty engagement in professional education development (e.g., Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, regional and national veterinary educator groups)
- Create assessment strategies and tools to document student learning and progress throughout the curriculum
- Supports faculty in implementation of new educational technologies and innovative teaching methods
- Provide one-on-one support for faculty in instruction and assessment
- Provide faculty professional development in teaching and learning
- Collect, analyze, and interpret curricular and student outcomes data (student surveys, faculty evaluations, graduating student and alumni surveys)
- Lead and promote educational research within the CVM
- Administer standardized exams to DVM students
- Teach students in communication and/or professionalism
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff
• Ability to communicate effectively across CVM stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize tasks, deliver results in a timely manner, and function independently
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications
• One year experience in higher education in outcomes assessment or teaching and learning
Minimum Qualifications:
• EdD or PhD in an education-related field
