Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#113090) in Finance at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

- Corporate finance.
- Investments.
- Financial markets and institutions.
- Financial planning.
- Behavioral finance.
- Fintech.
- Related fields.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
- High-quality research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Required Education
A terminal degree in finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:
- Professional experience in financial planning or wealth management.
- Holding designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE®).
- Financial analytics and planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, Morningstar) experience.
- Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and experiential learning.
