The Department of Professional Aviation at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month Associate/Assistant Professor within the College of Liberal Arts. The position will begin on September 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:  
Teaching nine undergraduate aviation classroom courses per year.
If certified flight instructor, conducting flight instruction in the flight education program. Additionally, advising students; assisting with planning, development, and revision of flight and ground school course curricula; and, engaging in research and professional service within the guidelines of the University or as determined by the Unit Head.   
Qualifications:
Required: Master’s degree in aviation realted academic field or Bachelor's degree in Aviation with a Master's degree and aviation experience. He or she must work well under pressure and must be able to adapt to constantly changing conditions. Additionally, he or she must have the ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner. He or she must be able to work varied hours during on and off campus events.
Preferred: Doctorate degree, current CFI/CFIIAGI/IGI/MEI, prior experience as a 14 CFR Part 141 flight instructor and experience with collegiate aviation accreditation through the Aviation Accreditation Board International.
