Description
Position SummaryIndiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington is seeking an outstanding lateral candidate to join our faculty as a tenured professor of law and to serve in the role of Executive Associate Dean. The Executive Associate Dean ( EAD ) works closely with the Dean and serves on the Dean's senior leadership team as the primary faculty liaison and representative. Other responsibilities include facilitating strategic planning and implementation; serving on committees as assigned; and curriculum planning and faculty resource allocation directed at both short and long terms. The EAD also works collaboratively with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean of Students on academic issues involving students and student academic programming; the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs on faculty scholarly activities and development; the Assistant Dean for Non-JD Programs; and the Assistant Dean for Admissions.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications include a J.D., Ph.D., or comparable degree as well as a distinguished academic background and record of excellence in both scholarship and teaching that would qualify for appointment as a tenured full professor. The ideal candidate will also have served previously as an administrator with academic affairs experience at a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
