The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is recruiting a cardiologist to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will practice as a cardiologist in a dual capacity within the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine, to include clinical and research responsibilities. They will participate in outreach efforts for the HVI, expanding inpatient and outpatient activities at locations within the HVI service area. As a faculty member, the successful candidate will actively participate in the research and educational mission of the HVI.

Job responsibilities also include having a clinical focus in cardiology is electrophysiology, and developing research in applying AI to electrophysiology to discover new ways of diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias. This work will include collaboration with faculty at the Swanson School of Engineering on this scholarly work. Breakdown of Effort 50% Research and 50% Clinical.

Cardiology Faculty positions at various levels in the tenure/non-tenure track are available at the University of Pittsburgh, with rank and salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials. An Assistant Professor should have demonstrated teaching ability, experience in advanced study and research, or professional experience of a kind that would enable them to make an academic contribution.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Qualified candidates must have an MD/PhD degree in Cardiology or a related field.

-Pennsylvania medical license-Board Certified or Board Eligible-Demonstrated excellent clinic outcomes

-Additional consideration for applications with specialized training in Heart Failure, Interventional procedures, Cardiac Imaging, and Electrophysiology

Available positions are open to all applicants who hold doctoral-level education in the field of medicine (MD, DO), are board certified or board eligible, are qualified for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and have completed necessary training related to the Cardiology specialty to provide clinical service.
