Description
The Department of Medicine's Division of Rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh is hiring. Now is your chance to work with a group of faculty who are passionate about teaching, research, and creating collaborative, diverse, and inclusive work environments that provide opportunities for professional development. We are seeking a Professor to engage in research in our Academic Center at the University of Pittsburgh. A successful candidate will have obtained an MD/PhD and have a strong background in clinical and analytical research, with the ability to mentor junior faculty. This recruit will work collaboratively with the Department of Immunology. A Professor will be engaged in faculty development of trainees and participate in mentoring up and coming trainees and students. They will actively lead in their respective lab team, and support both the Division and Department missions. Professor will have interest and dedication to strong mentorship, securing both internal and external funding, and support the mission of the University of Pittsburgh. This position will be 70% research, 10% clinical, 10% Service, and 10% teaching. The candidate should have a strong portfolio of publications, teaching opportunities, and engagement.
Applicants for Professor with Tenure will have served five to seven years as Associate Professor. The rank of Professor recognizes the attainment of authoritative knowledge and reputation in a recognized field of learning and the achievement of effective teaching skills. The professor should have attained superior stature in their field through scholarship, professional practice, and leadership in professional and learned organizations.
