The Department of Medicine- The Division of Malignant Hematology/Medical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting an outstanding translational science faculty working in the field of Cancer Research at the level of full time Research Assistant Professor, non-tenure level to join and lead established programs within the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
Successful candidates will have a doctoral or appropriate professional degree and exhibit promise of excellence in research. Candidates will join as faculty positions that are commensurate with prior training and experience. A competitive salary will be provided, as well as office or laboratory space within the state-of-the-art Hillman Cancer Center.
Research Assistant Professor candidates shall have demonstrated substantial experience in advanced study and research, published five or more articles in peer reviewed journals and will have made research presentations at scientific meetings. The Research Assistant Professor candidate should display an active interest in advancing their career by attending local and national scientific meetings. The incumbent will serve as an important member of a principal investigator's research group by providing intellectual input into the research and design process. Preferred candidates will be responsible for one or one sub-project that integrates with the portfolio of the research group portfolio which includes articulating the problem, developing the research plan, budget, conducting the research, interpreting the results, and preparing manuscripts. Research Assistant Professor candidates are encouraged to apply for both internal and external sources of research funding that complement the research group's portfolio and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, review articles, book chapters, and grant proposals.
