The Department of Geology and Environmental Science (http://www.geology.pitt.edu) at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a part-time Teaching Assistant Professor for the spring term 2026. The position is outside of the tenure stream. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Geology & Environmental Science, Environmental Studies courses at the undergraduate level.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a Master's or terminal degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field at the time of appointment.
- Applicants should have experience in Environmental Studies, with emphasis on communication and writing.
Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Geology & Environmental Science.
Review of applicants will begin immediately and proceed until the position is filled.
The start date is January 2, 2026
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating excellent teamwork, organizational, and effective communication skills, and who are excited to join a highly collaborative environment. This role is designated as on-site and requires incumbents to report to work at the University of Pittsburgh. The position requires moderate standing, walking, lifting, and computer-based tasks.
