The Yale School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, is a leading provider of patient care, education, and non-surgical and surgical innovation. Yale Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation together with Yale New Haven Hospital is ranked #41 in the nation by US News and World Report 2024-2025 for orthopedics. The hospital is the only one in Connecticut to receive a national ranking in this specialty and is recognized for its expertise in procedures like hip fracture, back surgery, hip replacement, and knee replacement. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, (PMR) launched a residency program division and now has eight residents. PMR is the largest division in the department with faculty located in all delivery networks in the state.

Join our growing faculty. The Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation seeks a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician for a full time position with an interest in general outpatient physiatric care, including musculoskeletal care, spasticity management, and EMG/NCS skills. This position will be based at Yale New Haven Health Lawrence & Memorial Hospital System, with offices located in the New London area. Responsibilities will include involvement in clinical services, teaching, and opportunities for research involvement.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical ambulatory service (Monday through Friday)
Primary practice locations: London, CT
Qualifications:
Board Eligible/Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Interest and/or experience in General Physiatry, Stroke, Spine, Amputee Care, and Neuromuscular Disorders.
Fellowship trained preferred (TBI and/or Neuromuscular Medicine).
Proficiency in musculoskeletal medicine, peripheral injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, spasticity management, electrodiagnostic consultations, concussion management, and workers compensation.
Opportunities:
Academic appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience.
Diverse practice opportunities in areas such as spasticity, brain injury, stroke, neuro-trauma, and neurorehabilitation.
Representing the Department by participating in committees, conferences, and exemplifying the institution at professional meetings and community speaking engagements.
