The Institute of Strategy and Management announces an open call for applications for the Professor position for an indefinite period.
The starting date is spring or autumn semester 2026 .
Job description and key duties:
Teaching duties:
o Teaching subjects belonging to the education portfolio of the Department of Strategic Management in weekly class hours as defined by the Academic Career Model.
Research duties:
o Writing articles in prestigious international and domestic journal in the field of Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate strategy or Competitive strategy.
o Participating at important international and domestic conferences, building international scientific relationships, getting involved in research projects, active research application activity in the field of Strategic Management thus securing the resources of the research projects and contributing to the internationalisation of the Institute and the University.
Service duties:
o Active participation in the professional public life of the Institute of Strategy and Management and the University, performing service tasks determined by the head of the institute.
o Supporting early-career academics at the university, including supervising PhD students as well as students participating in student competition.
Mentoring assistant professor and associate professor colleagues in the institute.

Requirements
Essential qualifications and experience:
PhD degree and habilitation in any relevant discipline
Teaching and research experience in higher education: at least 800 contact hours of which 80 is in English language
Experience in fulfilling course leader duties: overall responsibility for at least one compulsory course or at least two optional courses
Verifiable teaching development activity (curriculum development, methodological development): editor, first author, sole author or co-author of at least one coursebook or textbook, or a teaching aid or digital teaching material of 100 or more pages
Extensive publication track record in highly ranked journals in the area of Strategy and management.
Internationally recognised outstanding scientific performance: a very strong publication record in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals (Scopus Q1), authorship of at least one strategy related article in FT-50 journal (preferred if the applicant is the sole or first author of at least one of them).
English teaching experience, teaching experience related to Strategy
Track record of successful PhD supervision in any relevant discipline
Membership at relevant national and international scientific organisations
Demonstrated experience in leading or participating in national or international research projects.
Desirable experience:
Feedback (student evaluation, evaluation of direct supervisor) verifying teaching excellence
At least 10 years of teaching and/or research experience gained in higher education
Very strong publication record in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals (FT50 journals are preferred)
H-index of 30+ in Google Scholar or an H-index of 20+ in Scopus.
A position in at least one scientific body at the broad field of strategic management (Strategic Management Society is preferred)
Experience in international research projects as a principal investigator (PI)
Editorial experience in at least one Q1 ranked strategy related international journal (active editorial membership is preferred).

In case of university professor applicants who already have been appointed by the President of Hungary the document certifying this nomination shall be provided.
