- Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Description
The University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in the Department of Chemistry and Physics beginning in August 2026. Salary will be commensurate with degree, rank and experience. The University is a fully-accredited comprehensive regional university, and the department offers an ACS-certified chemistry major. Teaching duties will include quantitative analysis, chemical instrumentation and general or introductory chemistry. The successful candidate must demonstrate a dedication to excellence in teaching, a proficiency in the use and maintenance of a variety of analytical instruments, and a commitment to research that is appropriate for an undergraduate department. Participation in service to the university and student advisement are also expected.

Requirements
Successful candidates must have a PhD in chemistry. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered, provided the doctoral degree requirements are met by the time of the appointment.

Official transcripts must be sent directly to HR from the issuing school via email or postal mail to be considered official. Transcripts with a designation of “Issued to Student”, or with the student name listed as the recipient will not be considered official. Official transcripts will be required of the successful candidate prior to the start date of the appointment, but unofficial copies will be accepted for the application process.
