The Department of Finance (FINN) at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas Fayetteville, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position starting August 10, 2026. The employee is expected to publish research in top-tier finance journals, teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute their service to the university.
Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in finance, economics or a closely related field from a nationally or internationally accredited university conferred by the start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong research publication record or the potential to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed academic journals
A record of presentations at top-tier finance or economic conferences
Experience in teaching finance courses with strong teaching evaluations

The Department of Finance: The Department of Finance at the Sam M. Walton College of Business has an active research-oriented Ph.D. program, a Master of Science in Finance program, a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management, and a BSBA major in Finance. The faculty in the Department of Finance have diverse research interests and publish in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
