The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) 
UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes five schools (medicine, nursing, health professions, public and population health, and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities.
The Division of Vascular Surgery at UTMB is seeking a full-time vascular surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, to join the faculty. The purpose of this position is to support the Department of Surgery’s teaching, research, and patient care missions. The selected candidate will provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient care, and management of hospitalized patients. They will also participate in teaching activities such as conferences, lectures, bedside instruction, rounds, and supervision of residents and students in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient settings. Administrative responsibilities include supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical directions, and participating in departmental and health system committees. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in vascular surgery, with a demonstrated interest in teaching surgical residents. Research participation is encouraged, with ample opportunities and mentorship available within the Department of Surgery.
Minimal Education and Experience:
- M.D. or D.O degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Fellowship Training in Vascular Surgery.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Board certification or Board eligibility in Vascular Surgery.
