- Visiting Assistant Professor in Ecology
Description
The Department of Biology at Colgate University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Ecology beginning in fall semester 2026 to fill a one-year position. The successful candidate will join a biology faculty committed to innovative teaching in a liberal arts setting and involvement of students in research. Over the course of the year, the individual hired will teach two elective courses in the candidate’s field of expertise, at least one of which must be related to ecology; and teach in the laboratory component of a team-taught foundations course called Evolution, Ecology, and Diversity. The successful candidate will also participate in all-university programs, likely the Core Science component of the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum, by teaching a general education course in an area of their choice. Completion of PhD is required prior to or shortly after the date of hire, and teaching experience is desirable.
