- Assistant Professor in Latin American Medical Humanities
Description
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Dartmouth invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in Latin American Medical Humanities. The position is open to specializations in any historical period and in any Spanish-speaking region of Latin America and/or the Caribbean, including hemispheric, transatlantic, and transpacific comparative approaches. Applicants for this position should demonstrate how their scholarship and teaching engage with the intersections of language, literature, culture, and history with health, wellness, and the body as they are defined by scientific and medical discourses. A strong theoretical foundation and full professional fluency in Spanish are required. In addition to teaching courses in their area of expertise, all faculty members are expected to teach all levels of literature, culture, and language and participate in the department’s extensive study abroad programs. Required: PhD, or ABD with PhD received by the time of appointment, in Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies or related disciplines in the Arts and Humanities.
