Description
Miami University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Information Systems (Cybersecurity Focus) starting Fall 2027. This is a full-time, tenure-track position. Current department faculty members will be talking to interested candidates at AMCIS.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the Information Systems & Cybersecurity Management (ISCM) program, maintain an active research agenda that results in publications in top-tier information systems journals; advise students; provide service to the institution and profession; and engage with the business community.
About the Department
The Information Systems & Analytics (ISA) department at Miami University offers academic programs that integrate the fields of Information Systems, Business Analytics, Cybersecurity Management, and Artificial Intelligence for Business. Our mission is to empower students with the knowledge and skills to derive insights from data, use emerging technologies to advance business objectives, and address emerging cybersecurity challenges. Our department is composed of approximately 22 dedicated faculty members who foster a strong culture of collaboration within the Farmer School of Business, across Miami University, and with industry partners. Our rigorous academic programs focus on real-world data, experiential learning, and a project-based curriculum. The ISA Department offers a major in ISCM with separate tracks in Information Systems and Cybersecurity Management. Additionally, we offer a Master of Science in Business Analytics, a major in Business Analytics and several minors, including Business Analytics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity Management, and Artificial Intelligence for Business. We also offer a certificate in Artificial Intelligence for Business and Cybersecurity Management.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Doctorate in information systems or a closely related field by the date of appointment (or must be completed by December 31, 2027, for appointment to a second year), with prior experience in teaching information systems courses in a business school environment.
Consideration may be given to candidates with an interest in research and teaching related to cybersecurity management; previous research success and/or a promising research pipeline in cybersecurity; relevant work and leadership experience to advance our Information Systems & Cybersecurity Management program, and its alignment with emerging digital and AI-driven business practices.
