The assistant professor salary range for this discipline for current faculty based on experience and years in rank is $60,000-66,840. The budgeted hiring rate for this position is $60,000.

Job Description
The Communication and Cinema Department at McDaniel College invites applications for a Assistant Professor (M.F.A. or Ph.D.) beginning August 2026. Applicants should be willing to take a broad approach to the study of Cinema within the Liberal Arts context. We seek applicants committed to undergraduate teaching that balances theory and practice with a specialty in Classical Hollywood Cinema. The teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Cinema, Basic Video Editing, Scriptwriting, Narrative Film Production, upper-level Film Analysis courses, as well as the major's capstone course and first-year seminars. The teaching load is 3/3. Review of applications will begin May 2026 and will be accepted until the position is filled.
Requirements
Requirements
M.F.A or Ph.D. in relevant field required
Experience teaching at the college level preferred
Specialty in Classical Hollywood Cinema preferred
The ability and willingness to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential
