- Assistant Professor of CMIS
Description
The SIUE School of Business is seeking to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Computer Management and Information Systems (CMIS) department starting August 2027. Candidates will be expected to teach in one or more of the following areas: Computer Information Systems (CIS)/Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, Information Systems Project Management, and/or Cybersecurity.
The CMIS Department provides instruction within the School of Business in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with specializations in CIS, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics), and the Master of Science in MIS (MS MIS), Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics, and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. The curriculum includes a full range of information systems courses and is supported by state-of-the-art software and hardware technology.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related field; ABDs nearing completion will be considered. If the doctoral degree was granted more than five years ago, the candidate must have a demonstrated record of scholarship, and an ongoing scholarship agenda consistent with Scholarly Academic qualifications by AACSB standards.
Preference will be given to:
- graduates from an AACSB accredited business school;
- candidates with at least five years of professional industry experience in information systems;
- candidates with demonstrated skills in the areas of analysis, development, operations, security or management. Candidates must be qualified to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and may utilize both in-person and online modalities. A commitment to top-quality research, teaching, and service is required.
