Faculty Position – Transformative Pulmonary Science & Genomic Engineering
Boston Children’s Hospital | Harvard Medical School
The Division of Pulmonary Medicine atBoston Children’s Hospital is seeking bold, innovative scientists or physician-scientist investigators prepared to build a high-impact, field-defining research program at the intersection of genomics, engineering, and lung biology. Academic appointment will be as Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, commensurate with experience, training and achievements.
Candidates should have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent, demonstrated record of innovation and scientific leadership, or clear trajectory toward it, evidence of high-impact scholarship and strong potential for sustained extramural funding. Candidate should have expertise or an interest in developing or applying cutting-edge approaches for application in the study of pulmonary disease, including:
- High-throughput genomics and functional genomics tool development
- Synthetic biology and genome engineering (e.g., CRISPR and next-generation platforms)
- Biomedical engineering and advanced therapeutic delivery systems
- Nanotechnology and molecular targeting
- Developmental biology and regenerative medicine
The successful candidate will:
- Build and lead an independent, externally funded research program of national and international significance
- Develop novel technologies and conceptual frameworks that advance lung biology and disease
- Drive translation toward mechanistic insight, biomarkers, and therapeutics
- Mentor trainees and contribute to a high-performance academic environment
We are one of the largest and most well-resourced pediatric pulmonary programs in the country, with deep institutional commitment to genomics, data science, and translational discovery. We are embedded in a dense ecosystem of collaborators across the Longwood Medical Area, including Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Compensation
$60,000 - $441,496 Annual Base Salary
The posted pay range is the Department of Pediatrics’ and Children’s Hospital Pediatric Associates inc. reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay estimate at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical/vision/dental coverage, back-up child-care, disability benefits, retirement plans, professional expense accounts, commuter and other employee discounts.
