Founded in June 2022, HKUST (GZ) is located in Nansha, Guangzhou, the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is perfectly placed for geographical convenience and forms part of an axis for technological progress. They call it the new Silicon Valley of the East.

HKUST establishes HKUST(GZ) in Guangzhou, China, which synergizes with and maintains the same academic standard as HKUST.
HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs, namely Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, Society Hub and sixteen thrusts. At steady state. The HKUST(GZ) community will consist of 800 faculty members, 4000 undergraduates and 6000 postgraduates.

Requirements
Qualification of Candidates
We seek talents in cutting-edge research on innovation, policy, and entrepreneurship. Applicants must have a PhD degree in a related field, e.g., Public Policy Analysis, Public Administration and Policy, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Business Administration, Computer Science, Informatics, Innovation and Information Management, or a closely related discipline.
Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
- Science and technology policy
- Digital Governance and Technology Platform Management
- Business and Entrepreneurial studies
- Innovation and Creativity
- Data Analytics and AI Use for Policy Studies
- Technology and Social Development
Applicants must have a PhD degree in relevant fields. Senior academics should have proven teaching record, commitment, experience, readiness in cross-disciplinary curriculum and program design, and demonstrated service to the academic community and/or the public.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Generous research funds, ample laboratory space and excellent research equipment and support will be provided. Appointment to Professor rank and some Associate Professor rank will be made on substantive basis with tenure while initial appointment to other tenure-track faculty ranks will be made on a 6-year contract basis with a mid-term review.
